Hyland promotes OnBase as an application that allows organizations to bring the right information, to the right people, at the right time.
This week, over 2,500 members of the Hyland community are congregating in Nashville, Tennessee to attend their annual conference, CommunityLIVE. If you’ve never attended this event before, it’s a truly unique opportunity to meet, learn, and network with people in similar industries and hear how they leverage OnBase to solve a plethora of business problems.
CommunityLIVE has over 350 product sessions, dozens of live demo solutions to test drive, and hands-on product training, dealing with virtually every product in the OnBase suite. Perennial standard solutions such as Workflow, Case Manager, and Capture? There’s a session for that. Newer products such as Full Text, Unity Combined Viewer, and Content Composer are also covered. The range of topics on the agenda is so staggering, we recommend having a master plan so you don’t miss out on what you need most.
Unfortunately, not everyone is able to attend CommunityLIVE. The good news is, whether or not you’re attending the event, it’s not too hard to start benefiting from all the new things OnBase has to offer.
The Right Information
What’s the one thing every CommunityLIVE session, demo, and hands-on lab has in common? OnBase 18.
Consider; if your organization is on a version of OnBase older than OnBase 17, you’re missing out on multiple years of development. Every version skipped means there are thousands of potential enhancements that cannot be used.
OnBase 18 Features
OnBase 18 even has two great features that will help your business, right out of the box. Starting in OnBase 18, all core applications are now 64-bit. On top of that, all core application connections to the database are now handled by an updated connection component, ADO.net. These features translate to improved application execution under load and stress and much better performance over the network.
Technologies change rapidly, and your organization must continue to adapt. It is only by linking together enhancements, solutions, and business-transforming processes that you can continue to meet the ever-changing needs of your customers. This is just one of the many reasons why we recommend upgrading at least every two years.
The Right People
The journey to pursue a new version of OnBase and all the possibilities it holds should start with your OnBase team, your account manager, and ideally an Upgrade Specialist.
Finding a partner to power through an upgrade with gives you an inside look at the new features you can use and advice on the ones that can really help your business specifically. You’ll also have an advocate by your side if the upgrade project conversation needs to go higher up the chain.
Every business is different so depending on what your current team looks like, you can decide what level of involvement you need from a partner, starting with very little collaboration all the way up to a complete Pro Services engagement.
The Right Time
Time and technology wait for no one.
The saying is, “there’s no time like the present.” An upgrade project is no trivial task, and it requires good planning in order to have a successful upgrade experience. Even if you’re not planning your upgrade until Q1 2019, now is the best time to start the discovery conversations and working with DataBank to ensure your next upgrade is a success.
