Midwestern Healthcare Center calls on DataBank as It Transitions to Electronic Medical Records

This Midwestern healthcare center has a 100 year history of providing a wide range of services that include women’s health, cancer, cardiovascular, and emergency care services, and much more. Throughout its history it has widened its area of coverage by establishing satellite care facilities as well as through its affiliations with a network of regionally- based hospitals.

As a critical part of providing services to 1000’s of patients is the efficient management of their medical records, thus the necessity of moving to Electronic Medical Records. In seeking out potential providers that could deliver the needed services, they sought advice from other hospitals in its network that had successfully made the transition and found that several had used DataBank as their Document Management service provider.

In working with DataBank to define their needs, they quickly realized why others selected this EMR service provider. As part of their requirements they wanted a comprehensive solution that not only dealt with patient records but was based on OnBase Software which was being implemented throughout the network of member hospitals and was being integrated with Epic Software. Although this healthcare facility has yet to be part of the network-wide implementation of EHR with other member hospitals, DataBank provided document hosting services until full implementation could be achieved. In this way, this hospital could take full advantage of Electronic Medical Records in the interim. DataBank also provides the hospital with long term box storage, its Scan-On-Demand services, and certified destruction, as needed.
