DataBank Converts Documents, Digital Images and Indexes from Multiple Sources and Formats to Create Consistent Database of Information

This large Financial Institution serving major metropolitan cities across the US had begun implementation of a document management solution that would serve all departments from its savings and lending operations to its Human Resources, Accounting and other administrative departments.

As part of that implementation, they had over 5 Million documents that were stored digitally but needed to be converted to the standard format used throughout their organization. In addition, as they acquired loans and assets from other institutions, they needed to convert PDFs, Word Documents, and other unique formats to TIFF Group 4 format.

Moreover, they needed DataBank to re-index the files, capture additional information, and modify document types to correspond to, and be consistent with, their existing database of index information and an expanded document typing scheme. To speed the conversion process, DataBank’s Professional Services team used exiting conversion tools and tailored them to automate the entire process and populate the new database.
