
Chuck Bauer COO
Chuck is an entrepreneur and General Manager with extensive experience building imaging companies. Successes include start-ups, private equity partnering and international experience, plus operating businesses in Australia, New Zealand and Western Europe. He is recognized for driving market share, operational excellence and delivering results. Chuck has consistently proved his ability to build and lead teams strengthened by a strong financial background and an intense focus on customers and their specific needs, goals, and satisfaction.
Chuck was CEO and an owner of DataBank in Beltsville, Maryland. DataBank is a document management company focused on electronic document solutions for Government and Healthcare customers. Financially and growth challenged when Chuck took the leadership position in early 2004, sales increased by 60%. He doubled the business size in 2005. Chuck has signed partner agreements with Kodak, Digitech, Legato (EMC), and ACS. He also made a strategic acquisition of the Document Imaging Group in March of 2005.
Prior to DataBank, Chuck was CEO of an internet imaging software start up funded by a Swiss Venture Group. AXS technology was invented to efficiently manage very large image files. The technology was productized to support Web infrastructure and content delivery partners. The AXS technology also has been licensed to a number of companies for the Department of Defense and high performance computing related activities.
In 1980, Chuck became co-founder and owner of B&B Information & Image Management with his father. Beginning as a microfilming company the business successfully migrated to meet the needs of the emerging electronic imaging revolution. During its history the company was renowned for its innovative solutions and its passionate dedication to customer satisfaction. Chuck built B&B’s electronic imaging business to a leading position in the Washington, DC area. The company was sold to Source Corp in 1997.
In the middle of Chuck’s B&B activities, he had a new business vision and founded an innovative customer communications company in 1989 by blending proven database marketing with the new technologies of electronic imaging, printing and storage networks. He built Hermes Precisa of Australia (HPA), the largest essential mail and business output provider in Australia and New Zealand with clients that included all major banks and telecom companies in the region. HPA today is the dominant player in the Australian market.
Early in his career Chuck worked for the CPA firm, Ellin & Tucker Chartered, where he performed a variety of tax, audit and small business management services for the firm.
Chuck received his degree from Loyola College in 1975 with a BS in Accounting.
